If you are kind of Facebook geek who loves sensational apps like Bang with friends, an app that lets you to connect with your friends or talking more specifically- connecting you privately. If connecting with friends privately or using an app which is all about sex attracts you more, then you’ll find this new app TrinTime more appealing and catchy.
TrinTime is a classy and bit easier Facebook app, which lets you to know or tell your intentions towards your Facebook friend(s). Just like Bang with friends, this app lets its users to express their feelings, interests or intentions towards any of their friends on Facebook or even with Friends of Friends by using simple icons. The icons vary from a friendly “you’re cool” to a casual ask-out ‘let’s hang out’ and, a desperate and hopeful ‘romance’. The app developing company, for being more precise on translating feelings of people in a clickable emotions, have worked with a expert panel of Dr. Daniel McFarland, sociology professor at Stanford & Dr. Karen Ruskin, relationship specialist.
This app is more concerned with the privacy of its users and therefore never reveals your intentions/ strong feelings to other people in your network and other than publishing such embarrassing posts on your timeline everything is kept personal until you find a match for you. Upon having a match, both the users are intimated by an email alert and then they can choose to move further. Your “trints- digitally expressed emotions” are discarded over the period of 30 days so that you can start afresh again.
Mr. VS Joshi, the founder of TrinTime had this idea of developing TrinTime after catching up with a women he knew from his college time, the women asked him that why he didn’t asked out her during their college life. As stated by VS Joshi” I thought of asking her out a hundred times, but I didn’t take the next step because I didn’t want to spoil another good relationship.”
He frankly explained the reason that his experience with women was never a good one back in those days. “When I took my next step, it was always a disaster. That’s okay, you get rejected. But my relationship with these girls was never the same after. There was always this awkwardness,” he added.
Feeling tongue-tied while steering the scruffiness, in a real life? A good idea for developing a viral app, isn’t it?
Joshi started to work on TrinTime 18 months ago and during its private testing period, he found people related to his own past experience. One of those examples is a test in April, when around 1,420 students registered over 2,500 emotions on website and 301 total matched were found but one strong statistic to be mention here is that 60% of the users returned to the site to try, try again.
For the time being, this app is free for use as the company is not concerned with revenue at this stage. Right now the big question to be answered is that how big this app can go? If it works out then company can opt to charge a small fee from its users for finding matches or right partners.
It’s not the only of its kind app, other than Bang with friends a UK based Would Love 2 also launched a similar sort of app but that is an iOS app whereas TrinTime is a website, at-least for now.
TrinTime is not a project of a giant IT or software house, rather the company only comprises of two engineers, a designer and Joshi itself. The company has participated in many startup competitions including Babson College Venture accelerator program and has won couple of them.
The online dating market doesn’t work always and the reason why Bang with Friends got viral was the hilariousness of the app. Considering the success rate of online dating market, it doesn’t seems that ‘TrinTime’ will breathe out but if Facebook users are more desperate towards dating-focused or match founding app then a new market will emerge for apps of such niche. It depends on the potential of the apps that how long they can go in the race.
